In the efforts of building sports in Canada ad Toronto, a gentlemen by the name of Mike Dingsdale (416-410-7646) has started a new tackle football league, that is not promoted on a professional scale like the CFL, the players do not get paid and it is not televised. In different parts of the United States, namely Florida, there is a game of football played the differs from the usual football we are familiar with in that it is 6 on 6. That is each teams hosts 6 players at a time on the field. This game is huge in Florida and draws many fans and players. Mike Dingsdale has brought this game to Toronto in hopes to make football available for the sports enthusiasts that would not normally make it to the Pro leagues and are generally too old to play in school or just want another outlet to do so. The idea is that with 6 players on the field everyone is eligible to receive a pass or hand off from the Quarterback. It is currently played on a smaller than usual field indoors to accommodate our Canadian weather, however, towards the end of the season the league will select an All Star team to travel to Florida to compete against their hosted All Star team. The games are played on Friday nights at the Waterside Golf Dome between 7pm and 10pm, where many eager players meet on their respective teams, suit up in full tackle football equipment and ruff it out. My son (an eager 16 year old spectator who plays little league football) compared it to an XBOX game he owns called Street football, where the rules vary slightly but the overall outcome is equivalent to regular football and tons of fun!

Hoping to spread the word.

I am writing an encyclopedia of hobbies and interests for the North American market and would like to add flagfootball. For this I need a good action photo. Would you like to feature one of yours in exchange for credits, i.e. listing your name and website? (Ideally it would be at 300+dpi and 5+MB, although even at 1MB it could be featured in a collage.) I would love to promote this activity.

We were looking for leagues to join our organization for the 2006 season...We offer Nation ranking points to all teams, free entries for league champs and cash to the overall point winners...We also offer the state champions a free bid into the Nationals to be held out west in 2007...We also offer cash tournaments instead of your typical weekend tournaments...Unlike most organizations we offer cash to all winners...Our point system is based on league play NOT JUST TOURNAMENT PLAY, this giving all teams an equal chance to compete for cash and prizes...For more information please visit our web site at www.NFFA.us / 330.652.6750 / NFFAStaff@yahoo.com / Hope to hear from you
